Lion’s Head Takes First Place for Green Building, Real Estate and Facility Management

Congratulations to Lion’s Head for taking first place for “Building, Real Estate and Facility Management” at “Bulgaria’s Greenest Companies” 12th national competition organised by b2b Media!

The award comes as a well-deserved recognition for our company’s consistent efforts in driving change for sustainability and achieving energy-smart buildings across its property portfolio. The prize was received by Stela Zlatkova, Leasing Manager at Lion’s Head.

“Bulgaria’s Greenest Companies” award programme celebrates iconic green projects, ideas, initiatives, causes, campaigns and investments contributing to building a more sustainable and healthy environment, represented in more than 100 entries evaluated by a jury of respected media and business professionals.

Lions Head has been consistently following a green agenda in introducing sustainable practices and ESG standards in its Sofia-based Class A assets – the Megapark Office Center and Polygraphia.  Electricity provided to both buildings has been generated from 100% renewable resources since the beginning of October 2021.

Both office centres run on modern BMS automated technology for energy-efficient management and monitoring of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems based on occupancy. Electric charging stations, waste separation and air purification facilities together with dedicated green outdoor areas have also been introduced in line with the company’s corporate strategy to achieve positive environmental performance outcomes in its office buildings.

Polygraphia Office Center holds the globally recognised LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance for its efficiency in building planning and sustainable management, while Megapark is currently undergoing both BREEAM and LEED certification with demonstrated eligibility in all criteria.

With a caring and responsible approach to all modern aspects and requirements for occupiers’ health, wellness and green facilities, Lion’s Head’s office centres have a proven track record of being amongst the most desired workspaces in Bulgaria’s capital.

The award-giving gala ceremony of the competition was held earlier this May in Sofia, bringing together people, businesses and organisations dedicated to a green attitude from throughout the country. The opening video-address was given by President Rumen Radev, while major category awards were presented by Deputy Prime Minister for Climate Policies and Minister of Environment and Water Borislav Sandov and Deputy Minister of Energy Plamen Danailov.
