We are delighted to announce that two of Lion’s Head’s Class A buildings were awarded new green certificates last month. Oregon Park in Bucharest, obtained the WELL Health & Safety certification, while Megapark Office Complex in Sofia earned the BREEAM Excellent Certification, granted for high-level achievement in commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Over the past years, Oregon Park has introduced a number of intelligent and sustainable solutions in its consistent roadmap for scaling health across the complex. These include a large landscaped park, the latest UV-C technology, allowing for both air sanitisation and purification inside the elevator cabins, and a variety of fitness and other amenities, complementing the recreational experience in the complex. All categories of the building performance standard – air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, have diligently been covered for within Oregon Park. The WELL Health & Safety standard offered by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), recognises the implementation of a set of factors ensuring a working environment provides for a positive impact on the health and well-being of its tenants and employees. The certification process at Oregon Park in Bucharest has been accomplished in coordination with the Project Management department of Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.
Megapark Office Complex in Sofia has now earned its first international green-building recognition with the Building Research Establishment Assessment Method (BREEAM) Excellent certificate awarded – a leading approach that ensures buildings meet sustainable construction, operation, and design standards.
Megapark Office Center is one of the most environmentally conscious office buildings in Sofia, with electricity for operations produced from 100% renewable resources. In addition, energy consumption and efficiency are maintained at highly favourable rates thanks to the BMS automated technology for energy-efficient HVAC management.
With building sustainability having become a primary factor both for tenants and investors in their decision-making process, Megapark’s success in achieving the “Excellent” grade in the standard, comes to reaffirm that the complex stands out at as a sustainable green building and provides cost-effective, health, environmental and energy-efficiency benefits for its tenants.
The certification process at Megapark has been managed and completed thanks to Georgi Popchev, Head of Office Properties, Bulgaria, Kunka Yordanova, Facility Coordinator, and Nikolay Nachev, Technical Manager.

Prior to achieving the WELL Health & Safety certificate, Oregon Park’s 3 buildings were already proud holders of the BREEAM “Excellent” certificate for energy efficiency, waste treatment, water supply and the creation of an overall sustainable and offering a healthy working environment for its tenants.
Last year, Megapark was also awarded first place for “Building, Real Estate, and Facility Management” at “Bulgaria’s Greenest Companies” 2022 national competition.

With green building certificates becoming more and more significant in our responsible journey as a group of companies, the award of the two new standards at Oregon Park and Megapark marks a special achievement in our commitment to enhancing our overall ESG performance.
